I'm in the process of upgrading. I found a person around me selling a 80 gal shallow. I was originally going to go with a 120. I'm only thinking about that the 80 shallow cause I can get the tank and stand for 300 if I got the 120 route I'll probably end up buying them brand new. I'm just curious if anyone misses the extra 8in in height

i vote for no. tall tanks are such a pain!

The extra 8 inches in height will give u more options for aquascaping and also more room for the fish to swim. The question is will you need the extra height to get what u want in a tank.

What I got in my current tank now should be fine
2 clowns
6line wrass
2 pj cardinal
Watch men goby with pistal shrimp
Cleaner shrimp
Pin cushion urchin

Just as a point of comparison for you, this is 72” x 24” x 12”... So yours would be a bit taller at 16”, but still very easy to reach to the bottom to clean.

Thanks, it’s a work in progress, using Seamless Sumps; I’ll be adding a 3rd. The tank is actually a 3-hole bottom drilled frag tank.
