Hi, I recently bought a Red Sea Max nano setup consisting of corals & fish. Sadly this tank has it's fair share of hitchikers, worst of all being the aiptasia. I thought to myself I'll still buy the tank as it'll be a bit of a challenge for me to remove.

Once bought it I noticed I also have a gorilla crab & what I think is a banded ribbon worm. (See image and video below)

I spent £45 on berghia nudibranches to eat the aiptasia and haven't seen them since. I assume either the crab or worm may have eaten them. I haven't seen much information on whether the banded ribbon worms are good or bad, so if anyone knows that would be great. I know I need to remove the crab but I've been struggling to catch him as he only comes out some days and he moves extremely fast. I also would feel really bad killing him so not sure what I would do after I catch him, if I catch him. I was just asking for a bit of advice on what should be done with the aiptasia, crab and worm. I've been using aiptasia X to control the spread of the aiptasia but it just seems to make more of them. As far as I can tell the corals and fish are happy and healthy for the most part. Here's a few photos of the tank overall.

Finally if anyone could let me know what coral this one is below it would be great. It's neon green with spots on it, can't work out what it is

Many thanks!

What a pretty tank! The green coral looks like a chalice to me, but I’ll defer to anyone who has one in their tank. I use aptasia X to keep things under control, but inevitably a few new ones pop up. Good luck!

If you don’t want the crab try trapping , same with the worm . True Peppermint shrimp will take care of your aptasia . NICE TANK !!!

Lots of aptasia. Can see better if pics under white lighting. If you have more than 20 of them, I would advise a Kleini Butterfly which will eat them like candy. They are friendly and after aptasia gone will eat all dry and frozen foods,
Important though- You MUST get the one with the bluehead not the all yellow. The yellow will go after coral, the bluehead wont.
The coral on bottom looks like spongeodes or other monti

The coral is probably Montipora or Porites. The berghias are probably still in there, just hiding. You can trap the crab with a bottle trap. I hope that this helps!

It can take a while for the nudibranchs to do their work. With a heavy infestation, it's often the second generation in your tank that really gets them. How long have you had them? What fish do you have in the tank. Some fish eat them. Don't buy any wrasses or springers damsels until the aiptasia are gone --- they will eat the nudibranchs.

I've had the nudibranches for about a month, I used to see them all the time within the rockwork but haven't seen them for probably 2 weeks or so. I assumed my gorilla crab or worm had eaten them, I've just been to my LFS and bought some peppermint shrimp, I held off getting peppermint shrimp as I head they eat the berghia but I'd assume they're dead anyway.
