I have been getting about 40 gal. Of RODI water before my final tds rises to 4. My water source is city water from local wells. Fearing high co2 is the culprit I aerated a pot of untreated city water for 2 hours and the ph went from 7.4 to 8.3. confirming the presence of CO2. Since my RODI system is Spectrapure I called them to get advice and was told to order their CO2 test kit which I did. Now it appears that the solution might be to aerate the RO water before it is sent through the DI filter. This will require a large container and a additional pump. Another possible solution is to use the water from the lake I live on. This will still require a additional pump. Hopefully the lake water does not have elevated levels of CO2. However the lake water is somewhat turbid and will consume more sediment filters.
Has anyone had experience along these lines that could give me some advise on which path would be best.
