my tank is 14 months old ... rocks sand etc....suddenly my xenia decided to scatter all over and no matter how many times i trim them it keeps coming back...
so my questions is, is it adviseble to remove the rocks that has the xenia and add new rocks?

or would my other option is on the next water change i'm thinking of removing few rocks leaving some for bacteria etc and just add new rockscape......

like leave 30% old and 70% new rock?

what are my pros and cons?

i really do not like that xenias and they are just all over

Well it’s obvious your xenia are happy, you are going to have to identify exactly where you want the xenia, isolate it, and treat the rest like a pest. If not they WILL overrun your tank and you will never get rid of them. They are self fragging and will not stop. Kenya trees do the same thing. Take the rocks out and do your best to take everything that’s xenia off or it will come back. I had to take rocks out and dry them completely to get rid of some.

Nice tank. This looks controllable. I had it worse in the past. You could trim all the way down and cover with that purple reef epoxy. There is also that new UVC device. I'd hate to disturb that tank too much as it really looks great.

I have a bit of xenia

and when it grows where I don't want it to or crowds something I take these and trim it up.
You grab it at the base and spin them a little. Once you get the hang of it you can just remove a stalk or pull a whole clump right off a rock. To remove 1 stalk you pull it downward and a clump sideways gently pulling.
