Hey Folks,

I have a 20 gallon long tank that i have a heater and 15 pounds of LR and a Marine Land hang on filter. I have 3 crabs and 2 snails. The tank was established some time ago and used live water and live sand. Chemical levels are all with in normal limits and ao is the salt level and I have a 4 headed Hammer LPS, and a Soft coral.

About middle of January i had 2 of my clowns die only fish. I think it was ICH but could not identify it as a for sure thing. LFS said it could have been a million things. so i waited till the end of feb just to make sure nothing else was going to loose its life. Nothing else died so i went out and purchased two inexpensive clowns and boom same thing happened so i think it is deff ICH because they had a bunch of white spots on them before they died. I was very very disappointed in my self for the fish dying. But i said i would keep at it and now the corral are growing like crazy and the Inverts are also doing great. I have not put in any fish since i know the best way to get rid of ich is to let the tank go for about 6 weeks. In the mean time i thought about seting up a very small Quarantine tank that i could set up and break down when new fish are added just something very inexpensive.

What i was asking is if anyone could give me some advise on the Tank set up and weather or not im doing the right thing with my 20 gallon tank. Thanks so much for the input.

Here is my "how to" guide for setting up a QT: https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/fish-disease-treatment-diagnosis/189815-how-quarantine.html

For your purposes, a small 5 or 10 gal QT may work. You mainly need: tank, heater/thermometer, and a small powerhead or air pump/air stone. A HOB powerfilter would be nice, but not required.

Btw, it's very possible your clownfish keep dying from a disease similar to ich called Brooklynella. Below is a pic for comparison.
