This coral has been struggling for a while. Now these marks are showing up. What do you think?

I also have a pair of Flame Angels that nip pretty often but I have never seen them around this coral.

Yes, it’s an Acro. Sorry for the poor pic. This is the base that is encrusted. The branches are up to the left but now covered in coralline after dying back.
It was green, then browned out mostly. The encrusted base has almost wandering track marks that are white and no real traditional oval bite marks.

Still tough to see for sure. Looks like possibly some bites though. I’d just dip it in Bayer and know for sure in a few mins.
 
Yea still hard to see but I know what I am looking at now thanks for explaining. Normally once an infestation is bad the oval bite marks are too hard to see and you will start to see blotchy areas more than anything. But normally you will see a dead area and or eggs near something affected that bad. A picture in focus would be the only way to tell anything for sure. It looks fairly odd in a way that doesn’t remind me of normal aefw damage but still could be.
