AEFW pics

That looks like a leopard Polyclad flatworm. They are clam and euphyllia destroyers. Found one in my tank. Manually removed and then treated the tank with flatworm exit. Haven’t seen any since. They usually lay eggs on the coral structure so manual egg removal may also be necessary if you find any.
Believe me, I wish you were correct. Sadly, they are indeed AEFW. I have 100+ pieces of acropora in my FT. No clams, no euphylllia. The picture has fooled a few people into thinking polyclads because they look big. They are 1/4" long.

Yea big aefw will look similar to those big polyclads when they get huge like that. I have had them in my tank for a long time because they eat my snails and sometimes I will find a small one and jump for a second thinking it’s an aefw moving around away from an acro. The aefw don’t have as much of a pattern on them. They are easy to tell from the planaria because they don’t have a forked tail and you can see the oval mouth area on aefw near the front half of the worm if I remember right.
Scott I hope the fws keeps working for you, are you only using the recommended dosage or doing the double dose? Took me about 8 months til I thought they were completely gone from the system when I used the double dose.

Yeah the pic is deceiving as I shot it zoomed, and through a 5X magnifying lense.

I am doing about 150% recommended dose. Now that my second large bottle has arrived I will take it up to double. At 300 gallons, it is kinda expensive but must say I am (so far) pleased with the pace of reduction. My first dip (7-8 weeks ago) dislodged 40-50 of them. My last dip revealed 5. And I cannot find eggs anymore -- even though they are in there somewhere I am sure.

I have some damsels in there that I have trained to eat aefw. I take each frag and hold it in front of the return nozzle to blast the FW off and they chase them down in the water column. Very satisfying there for a while but they are getting harder to find.

My sense is that AEFW have been in there a while, but were controlled by my wrasses (melanurus and six line). But once my domino damsels (the Satanic variety) got large they killed the 6 line. Then its replacement. Then the third one. I am going to buy a school of sixlines at some point.

One common thing I think people don’t realize is how big AEFW can get. It’s not like your typical red planaria, these suckers are huge.

Very good news! Glad to hear it. It’s very rewarding to see the reduction and new coral health when you spend that kind of money on the product. I wish more people would have experimented with it when it first came out. I remember it getting a bad wrap from a lot of people who didn’t see results fast enough and for a while no one was using it. I am surprised zeovit didn’t market it a little different in the beginning.
I would urge anyone that has aefw and doesn’t feel like dipping to try this method. I would expect you will be rid of them in a few months if you keep up what your doing! Keep us updated please.

I was digging through a bunch of different AEFW threads, so yeah, I've read many criticisms. And some harsh commentary directed at some folks that felt the product effective under certain circumstances. So I PMd a couple of folks that seemed to know their acropora stuff very well (with awesome colony pics) and they kindly and very specifically shared their experience. Generally it went like:
a) Takes months, but you will notice change sooner than that. Coral Boost purely optional. (I do both)
b) Double the dose. And don't stop for a long time. (I do.)
c) if you can dip, do so. Inspect.remove eggs. Helps you know if they are declining or not. (I do weekly.)
d) If possible, add as many six-lines as you can stomach. (mine end up dead <24 hrs.)
