its about learning from the experience and coming to a plan on how to address the issue. my main thing is acros......you really think ive never seen or had to deal with flatworms? i have just been accustomed to thinking they all have flatworms i dip every acro i recieve every 3 days in coral rx industrial for 30 days. if i get new acros for that system all the originals inculding the old ones get dipped too. i actually get paid just to dip corals lol . for me its about being proactive and not reactive. i tell customers even if i bring acros home from my store i still dip every 3 days for 30-45 days just because its easier than getting flatworms. some think im crazy ....some think im over the top. i tell them have you ever have aefw in a full blown acro system? as a vendor i try my hardest but as far as results......its a number game. to each his own you must inspect every piece yourself at the end of the day....it was each of us who made the call to add.....1 more piece to our systems. every single thing in life is much similar. its from ones own experience which one can learn.

thats my 2 cents

Obviously in your mind I don't have the right to my own opinion or have the right to choose which way I practice this hobby. If I follow my own policy I would be very able to sell anything out of my tank at this very second. I have never had any sign of aefw in my tank so your points ate invalid there.

This is a personal attack directed at me, because this thread followed a 2 hour texting argument you had with me yesterday. Then you come on here and quote what I said in a thread that's closed? You're grasping for straws trying to win am argument you can't.... Because you have nothing to prove anything you have said.

I will agree to disagree and bow out of this conversation.

You have every right to run your tank how ever you feel. I couldn't care less but when anyone jumps on the flaming band wagon and starts giving horrible advice I'm gonna call em out. I don't care if its you or the owner of this site. Bad advice is bad advice and proclaiming to never buy corals from a tank that once had a issue is bad advice. I really doubt you actually meant exactly what you said and gave you plenty of chance to back up and say that was a hasty statement.

If you can not accept the fact that all suppliers deal with aefw and nothing is 100% that's your problem. I can realize when a company deals with thousands maybe up to tens of thousands of pieces a month stuff happens. Its not the fault of anyone. Even if proper precautions are in place sometimes stuff still gets through.

As far as thinking this is a personal attack....that couldn't be farther from the truth. It is my obligation to the community. I don't sit around posting a lot but I will anytime I believe someone says some this as absurd as this. Feel free to do a flatworm background check of every supplier you deal with but stating that on a public website gives the wrong impression. Not only does it possibly hurt sponsors of this site it could hurt anyone selling corals from their tank.

the way I read the post was that it was a hobbyist's opinion. If you have a different opinion or thought about something, that doesn't make the original absurd.

You are correct. I would never consider a differing opinion absurd. The problem I have with the statement is it is impossible to know if a system has ever had pest. It is a wild statement that no one could possibly follow. It was said in an off topic post bashing a r2r sponsor and to top it off I know the poster does not follow the same philosophy. I don't even have a problem if a person wants to try to never buy from a system that never had a pest problem.

I do however have a huge problem with someone making this statement while having sold corals from a system that once had a pest problem. If they truly felt this way they would have never sold from that tank. So either they were just flaming a sponsor or will just bend this when financial gain is to be had.

Anyways I would like to try and get this back on topic. Is there any way for a seller to always keep their system free from pest and is there any way to verify this? As age of aquarium stated he will quarantine stuff from his own store. Not saying his business practice is lacking in any way but he is also responsible enough to know nothing can be 100%.
