Yea its hard to see. I got black bugs noe that come out at night nd have no idea what they are. But if you were able to get ur acros out and qt its a piece of cake. Supposedly they live about a week without a host but not sure on their life cycle so just make sure you dip them around once a week and inspect for eggs

The problem is not sure if they will survive in qt they seemed stressed and we know stress will kill them! Fingers crossed

Ah man best of luck to you. When i had aefw i dipped them once a week and placed them back into my tank for about 2 months, havent seen any signs since then

Is your Frag tank plumbed to your main?
And if not can you give me any details on it?

Thanks
Nope not plumbed its acually an oceanic biocube 29. I had a mandarin,6 line wrasse and cleaner shrimp in there that ive had for a long time and felt bad breaking it down so just used it to house frags from my dt and incomming frags that i purchase. Its stock, has a 2 little fishes phosban reactor for carbon and filter floss on top middle chamber. Incomming sps frags i keep there for about 2 weeks and if my 6line wrasse doesnt take care of the hitchikers my mandarin will

Cool sounds like a plan. What lighting? Do your frags keep there color?

Stock crappy pc lighting. I have 3 kessil a160ws i won at reefapalooza last year and never used them so i might switch. Depends what frags. I never order online so i usually just troop it and get it cut right from the colony and plug it myself. Some keep color some dont but i dont mind

My quarantine is a simple 20 g tank with skimmer and power heads. I prefer to treat in quarantine and not in tank as it allows you to get rid of any pests in the tank by starving them. I dip corals on weekly basis in quarantine 2-3 weeks and if there are no signs of pests I dip one more time on the way to DT. Haven't dealt with AEFW but did treat a few infected monti frags I got with Nudis, was a long 6 weeks struggle but the frags made it. They did loose colors and I lost a couple but better loose them in QT than infect your tank. Having multiple quarantine tanks also helps if your frequently adding corals as you avoid cross contamination and have time to restart quarantine between corals if u find any pests.
Doubt you'll see the FW in Bayer dip as the water becomes whitish. I dip with Coral RX to be able to see any pests and if I'll have Bayer on hand I'll dip with it either right after CoralRX or after one week in quarantine.

Yep those are definitely AEFW eggs. If you remove all the dead base tissue with eggs on it and dip every 5-7 days for the next 2 months you can almost certainly be clear of them. They cannot complete their life cycle even in the display tank if you are dipping that frequently. They won't be able to reproduce so any long term hold outs with either starve or get hit in a dip sooner or later. Bayer, Coral rx, Revive all seem to knock them off in my experience.

I've dealt with them a couple times in different tanks. It's much easier if all acropora are kept in quarantine during treatment, but if you can remove them from the display and then put them back between dips it still works without a quarantine system. Just be certain you are dipping every single acropora and never let it go more than 7 days between dips, ideally 5. It's a pain in the butt and totally worth it at the same time. After you beat them I guarantee you'll be quarantining all your new pickups in the future. I know that's what got me quarantining corals when I first started in the hobby.

The corals should start looking pretty happy again once you've got 4 or 5 successive dips under your belt and almost all of the worms are gone. Best of luck! You can definitely beat them
