Looking to start dosing these AF supplements. The confusion I’m having is when to dose. The instructions say don’t dose to achieve desired parameters. Do I start dosing once parameters are stable where I’d like them? If that’s the case, how am I determining the amount to dose?

I assume AF is Aquaforest?

I used AF 123 for a while. You use it just like any other 2/3 part system. I just started dosing a small amount and tested daily to see how the parameters moved. Increase/decrease dosages as necessary

Did you use a calculator somewhere to determine the amount to dose to get to where you wanted parameters?

So first you need to get your parameters where you want them which would be to the same levels as the salt you are using.

You would adjust that using AF KH buffer and AF Calcium.

Start dosing AF components (equal amounts of each) at around 20ml per day per 100 litres.

Measure Alk on Day 1 and Alk on Day 4 to find a 4 day consumption.

If your Alk has risen lower the daily dose, if it has fallen increase the dose.
Test again after another 4 days and adjust dosage again.

BRS might be a good source to find out what to dose. Are you going for specific colors? What type of corals?
