AF Zeomix Question

I understand the Zeomix needs to be changed out every 6 weeks. Is it recommended to switch all the media or only 1/2 of it at a time?

Someone mentioned to me that switching only 1/2 maintained a more stable bacterial population. I see the logic in this if the micro-porous structure is the primary reason to use the media.

This is an old thread but why/what is the purpose of changing all the Zeomix every 6 weeks? Seems your just dumping good bacteria that grew in it.

AF zeomix is not like other zeomix. Its not for bacterial population maintenance its just for absorbing ammonia and other ions. Life biofil on the other hand house bacteria.
