Thinking out plumbing. Never used union valves but want them involved this time.
Where do you guys use your unions - what areas NEED them. Guessing anything you want easily removed like from the return pump for sure, but where else? each drain? another area on return line? etc etc etc.
Anyone have a clear pic of how they utilized it within their plumbing with unions I could check out?

Oh man - this would have made me so mad. You know those Lil things we miss while doing a project. Well the leg was in the way of the drain for hard plumbing. Good thing I was able to find a flex tube bulkhead. Think I will be able to make it work now As it just fits. Would have sucked to re take apart stand to saw off a 3" piece and have to put back together. Man phew

This came in today. Started playing with my tonga for base work. Man that stuff ticks me off.lol after many failed tries and broken pieces (bangs head on wall.lol) and me barking out stupid pieces all these pieces are lame.lol wife says "well your not settling this time - do it right cause your not getting another tank

Never heard of the great stuff foam? Always have used this prolly due to starting my 1st big tank with Marco rock so it made sense. Now I love the stuff - works really well.
I was actually struggling with the scape ideas yesterday. Thought I had it all worked out but things are always better in ideas than reality.
my 1st idea was 1/2 reef 1/2 disguised frag tank grow out area. I already have 1/2 the reef just need to figure which end I want it on and how I want to set it up (not easy - large premade structures and shelves covered with coral).
For the growout side I have 25# dry Marco and a bunch of live rock. Plan on breaking the Marco rock up into pieces. I have some tonga I am trying to make the base of the frag growout station with. My idea is to have it actually look sum what like a bonsai tree structure. With the broken up dry rock I plan on zip tie in and afterwards using the e-400 to secure. These structures will be different sized donut looking shelf with center open. After attaching to the structure I will use black egg crate and set in the middle of each so you don't see egg crate but I still have the racks for holding.
Have a lot more ideas also but we will see. Plan on doing a type of sand dish also as tank is bare bottom but might make it into something unique

So the top of the stand is just the rectangle border of the tank with no cross braces. I like this as it will leave complete view. I am questioning it tho? What do you guys think - should I add 1 or 2 Cross braces front to back? - need/have to add 1 or 2 for integrity?

Ya I have some 2x2's. Maybe I will cinch a couple in there for piece of mind. The stand seems stable but the whole thing trips me out. I always remember cleaning the 90 and almost felt as tho things were swaying.lol

Been trying to mess around with placement. Funny always seems to work differently in the head.lol
here is 1 of 2 ways I have tried so far. The 1st was this same look but more angled off back right corner of cube. Love the flush look but I want all viewable sides on tanks open.
Also thinking of a 3rd way where I take the big tank back to the back right corner of cube in more of an L look/shaping. Than putting in a table bar area in front of big tank up to front of cube to give that flush look again to both but with the big tank set back......if that makes sense.lol

The running tank in pics will be gone when finished. Also each option leaves a good few feet behind tanks I can get back to and utilize as fish room area.
