AquaMaxx AF-RS170 Automatic Filter Roller (flow rate 750 gph).

Installed in stock sump drain compartment with zero mods to sump (just can’t use stock ATO which would get in the way of roller filter).

Drill hole for 1” PVC in bottom of roller filter body, drop in drain compartment and connect u-shaped PVC from tank drain pipe up thru drilled hole into body of filter roller.

Not all the bells and whistles, but effective and economical.

Lol no kidding those rolls do start to add up! I saw another DIY post for a “roller cleaner” which allowed you to clean dirty fleece rollers in sink for re-use. Not sure it is that much different than socks, but at about a roll/month, less frequent if nothing else. May try that to see if it’s worth the savings.

Someone posted they other day they wash their redsea filter rolls in a laundry bag and then re-roll them. One guy said he on like his 10th use or something crazy like that. Wonder if this brand would work as well

Wow, will try that at some point; at ~$14/roll definitely worth the effort.
