I have a 40g tank (30x18x18) and I'm looking for an affordable lighting system (because I'm from Canada, I'll have to pay about 40% more than in the US). I don't want something hanging from the ceiling and ideally LED. I want to keep mostly LPS, mushrooms and zoas. Any suggestions ? Is Current USA orbit a consideration ? How about 2 Micmol aqua mini 60w ?

This is like asking which is the best religion. You're going to get most people saying to go with Kessil, some others saying to go with AI Prime HD, and yet others go with XYZ . A lot depends on how much control you want, the user interface with the settings, etc... I have AI Prime HD in my nano tank and love it. I almost went with the Current USA, but I had someone I bought some corals with that have beautiful corals, which lights they use, and they said AI Prime.

I had great luck with my current USA loop system on my IM 20gal. Grew SPS and LPS great. I had an 18” and 24” over it, looped with 3 660gpg powerheads.

Look at the ocean revive t247. You probably only need 2

Look at the mars aquas and the Chinese black bikes the 300w is about 30 in. Comes in basic and you buy wall timers. Comes with timers or comes with a programable ramping model. Those are shipped from China so no US duties.

Two kessil 160 would work too. You should be able to find them up north as well.

Currents are pretty good. Most prefer the PRO model as the standard are quite low powered.

Zer light is another brand to look at.

fluval 3.0 is not a bad choice
