im currently searching for an affordable light that comes under 200$, but i dont know which one is appropriate for coral and macroalgae growth.

would anyone have any good recommendation?
thanks!

Under 200 is tough for corals. You have nicrew viparspectra noopsyche other than that you would have to go used as far as leds. Some t5 brands may work as well but not sure on cost of those anymore.

I went from LED to T5 and i really like them. I see them pop in most common sizes quite frequently on marketplace and buy sell trade sites rather often. I am sure you can find a set for a fair price.

depending on the tank size...
that could be a complete oxymoron.

As others mentioned. Depends on how large of an area you need to illuminate. Under $200 for the entire tank? Or per light unit? Big difference there if you need to light a 3-4 foot tank or more. Under $200 all in for 4+ feet kind of only leaves 2-3 options. Chinesium type Amazon lights can do it. But you won’t get top shelf construction or control

Tank size, and what do you want to keep? would you consider buying a used light?

Noopsyche are LEDs. You can take a look
They would be great except for your controller. The controller i have freezes constantly, hard reset half the time won't bring controller back on line. I cant recommend these lights to anyone till the controller is fixed and reliable
