Ok this might be a really stupid question but I'm going to ask anyways since I can't find an answer..

If I'm dosiing All For Reef, do I still need to dose Seachem's Reef Plus and Reef Trace?

Is this overkill?

Thanks in advance!

While AFR contains some trace elements, it may or may not be sufficient to supplement the consumption of your aquarium.

When you dose a combined trace element, you always runs the risk of overdosing some, and under dosing some.

You can always dose a little bit if you fancy, but it's not more purposeful than not dosing at all.

Not a stupid question at all.
All for Reef contains trace elements as well.
So in my opinion, you would not also be dosing Reef Plus or Reef Trace.

All For Reef Info
---------------------------------------------------------------
Specifications (per 1,000 mL of mixed solution)

  • Carbonate Hardness Concentration: 6,000 dKH
  • Calcium Concentration: 43,000 mg Ca
  • Magnesium Concentration: 1,900 mg Mg
  • Strontium Concentration: 780 mg
  • Iodine Concentration: 34 mg

In addition to the calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium, All-For-Reef comes pre-mixed with the same elements used in their Trace A and Trace K

  • A- ELEMENTS - contains anions of the trace elements bromine, fluorine, iodine, lithium, molybdenum, selenium and vanadium in pure mineral form
  • K+ ELEMENTS - contains cations of the trace elements barium, chrome, cobalt, iron, copper, manganese, nickel, strontium and zinc in pure mineral form

Thank you! I'll just stick to strictly AFR and up the dosing as needed!
