Ok, I know I should have learned after the peppermint shrimp fiasco, but FOR THE SECOND TIME a crustacean has died the first night causing me sorrow, lots of testing, more sorrow and regret, kicking myself wondering what I possibly did wrong that cost this poor creature it's life. A sleepless night, followed by getting up early to check the parameters yet again and...
Oh no, Wait.
He just molted.
In my defense, this time it was a hairy emerald crab that then (Like the shrimp) hid in a cave so I couldn't find him still alive.

I feel your pain...every time I see a molt in the tank, I quickly start searching to make sure it was just a molt.

I just lost a blue leg hermit I've had for three years. I saw what I thought was a molt. It wasn't. Sad.

Lol, I’ve had my wife call me in a panic too having looked in and seen that. Luckily I saw it earlier that morning and made sure or I would have had heartburn the rest of the workday.

My spouse just reminded me that this is 3. Not 2. Forgot about the horseshoe crab. I was besides myself because I just love that little crab. She hid for DAYS. I didn't find her until I walked in at night and she was swimming around the tank.
