What's happened to these? Blue agave, seductions, salted, ect. They used to be very plentiful. I know the Hawaiian sources have disappeared but is anyone keeping them alive and multiplying in their systems?

I had them and then over a year or so they started to dwindle down and die off. One thing that was clear to me is they seem to need to be fed. I noticed on more than one occasion where the polyps were capturing shrimp and eating them.

This may go for all the Hawaiian palys as the Red Devils and others all died on me over time.

I never bought the idea of certain alk levels having an effect.

Any input would be appreciated on your success if you have kept them thriving for over 2 years. Or for that matter any info on them on current status.

Any rpe seduction agave I tried seems to decline after a month. I recently got some white zombies from a friend. They are much bigger, much brighter than all the others I've had. I've had them since mid October so they are healthier to. Doubled polyp count since then. Will cut them soon.

I have several frags of different blues, seductions, and a light purple I've yet to see anywhere. I'm on a mission to get a true Salted.

Ya I hate shipping. Why I almost always try to find sellers that I can buy multiple frags from. Lol I don't feel quite so bad if the cost is spread through 4 or 5 frags. Thanks. Lol though some are really blurry but I'm learning. When I get my frag tanks going it will be easier. Lol I have lots to practice with. IMG_20171212_120120264_HDR.jpg

I have some salted agaves that I’ve had for a few years now. Just recently zoas have really started to take off in my tank (I’ve ignored it and not running a skimmer) unfortunately the agaves have been crowded by the growth of all my other zoas. I’m going to have to pull some from the pile to let them stretch out a bit.

Thanks! Most of those were grown from 1-2 polyp frags. The chaos were added not to long ago and so far filling in pretty well.

It was my understanding that Salted Agaves did not have any blue at all in the center even when fully mature. Those to me look more like Blue Agaves. True Salted Agave from WWC. I've also seen some true Salted from joshporksandwich

It looks like you might be right though there is some difference in opinion about it from the threads I just looked up. I bought them as salted agaves from a vender here on r2r so I never questioned it. Some people are still selling the ones I have as salted agaves too. Some where say it’s lighting that makes them different, not sure if that’s true though. I think I’ll take a few polyps and move them to a place with more light to see if I can get them to change at all. There are so many morphs of the same polyps with different names it’s hard to keep them straight.

I have been able to change the amount of red in the polyp with lighting. But I've so far never been able to change the coloring around the mouth. Maybe some others who have had ones that started like the WWC one will chime in
