Looking to get a new tank and thinking about the AGE Euro-braced Hybrid tank product line..
There isnt munch info floating around the web about these tanks...

please share your feedback/review/pics..

I have a custom built 160g hybrid AGE tank, with a 1" thick acrylic 1 piece eurobrace. First, I absolutely loved the look of the tank.

but the bad news is that I know of at least 2 that have failed. Mine, and another guys out in Oklahoma or something.

I am running 2 x250w MH over the tank, with a hanging canopy. The lights are about 14" above the top of the tank, and the heat was still too much for the acrylic eurobracing. It eventually started to bow just enough to pull the top seam. Luckily I caught mine before it started leaking, and AGE made a stainless steel top trim piece to keep the tank for popping.

the other guy figured it out because water was pouring out the back of the tank.

Let me add, AGE support was fanstastic. I was very happy with the way the dealt with the problem, my tank was out of warranty, and I was not the original owner.

Also, if you run LED, or just T5's, the top brace will never be a problem.

My buddy has now had two a 280 and a 385 custom. Both were amazing build qaulity and just all arounf awesome tanks. He never had any issues with his. Unfortunatley AGE dosnt seem to want small tank business, not sure what size you are thinking. I tried going to them for a custom 200 and was pretty much told it would take at least a year. I got the impression they would rather not deal with anything that small.

I could be wrong but this was the impression I got.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Got my 36x36x25 w/external overflow about 3 1/2 years ago. The seams are poor at best.

Use to be great, however I seen them at MACNA this year and they were not that impressive. The silicone was kind of messy and that was the show tanks they brought to MACNA. The best thing at MACNA hands down was the Reef Savvy tanks! Un-real! Great quality and beautiful workmanship. That has taken AGE's spot as my dream tank.

I just caught my first look at a reef savvy tank last week it was really nice!

I have had my 338 AGE Hybrid for a year now . Absolutely love it . Chris Barns is awesome to work with . My next tank will be twice the side and it will be built by AGE .
