Age requirement on R2R?

Does R2R have an age requirement to sign up? @revhtree

I do try to discourage toddlers from participating in the chemistry forum. They seem to not have the appropriate attention span to work through the technical issues without throwing a temper tantrum.

lol. Toddlers won't understand it anyway. Reef chemistry for me is pretty hard to learn and I still have not learned it all...

I would say no one younger than a teenager is keeping a reef tank at least without their parents significant help or it being their parents tank! So there would be no reason for someone younger than that age to be in a forum like this.

Yea... Anyone under the age of 12 should be getting help with their reef tank. My parents stopped helping me when I was 11 it just got so dirty they wanted nothing too do with it. My mom wanted to drain it but my father understood that tanks go through phases and he helped me order things to get it back into shape. I had to tell my mom that I was not going to give up... and now I am very succesful!

Wow I did not expect you to be this young, well done and keep on reefing!

Many of us started at an early age, myself at 14 and 16 years later I’m still here enjoying it just as much as before if not even more.

Keep evolving and never stop learning ;)

I bought a 5 gallon tank for my 9yo grandson. He wanted the glofish.

I think at this point you are way beyond your years as a reef keeper.

Enjoy it for what it is.
Wow I did not expect you to be a grandparent :grinning-face-with-sweat:

In my head everyone here is about the same age as me lol

Love to hear your grandson is interested in fish keeping too, that’s awesome.
My grandpa gave me my first freshwater tank when I was still a child too.

Lol, you can never tell the age of someone on the net.
I'm 58, 2 children, 2 step children, 6 grandkids and one on the way.
Almost was a great granddad but unfortunately things went south a couple months ago. :(

What do you mean by the next big thread?
I think it would be a popular thread. We all see screen names after a while, and may assume an age range based on conversations had with each other.

Are you sure 65g?
Generally theyre 36" long and 18" deep and 23-24" high

I got so worried when I saw this at first that I was going to have to stop using r2r lol.
But I'm also a child lol.
Wow. There are more kids on here than I thought.

Welp might as well rip the bandaid off. Started planning for the hobby at 9 got the tank at 10 and set it up 3.75 years went by and struggled until at 13 I joined here then I turned 14 in January got the newest Xbox and money for the tank ofc. And now i'm here!
Congrats - I started a 'fish breeding business' at age 10 - sold or traded the fry to the LFS - so basically had a free hobby - with a few dollars to spend.
