Why are they considered expert? I have one.
They require ideal water conditions and many who have one in time lose them. They require attention to water quality, diet, and habitat and when those are not met, they quickly go downhill. We are talking a well established tank with ideal water conditions.
Manly, they are sensitive to change especially with salinity, temp and Ph. They are also very susceptible to bacterial infection which in turn cause their legs to decompose and fall off and rarely if ever grow back. Ive seen over a few decades, these stars perish with owners than live long term.

Ah. Mine has been doing well but it hasn't been long. One of theese days I'll try to spot feed it.

I've heard the blue ones are less hardy than the ornage ones?

Get one turbo and replace with three astreas (more forgiving and harder working)
Also get 3 nassarius which work in/on the sand bed. Assure the crabs are Carribean blue legs

Wouldn't you want more than 3?
I've got almost 40.
And my sandbed is barely clean.
No - this is to start with and assurance that they wont die. Easier to add than to remove dead ones

Oh.
I've got some simalar but one is about 1.5 inches.
They dont get an inch and a half- Maybe 3/4"
You have blue leg from fiji or pacific and carribean would be Clibanarius tricolor
