Hello! I am currently restarting my tank and I’ve just set up the Waterbox 20 cube again. Before, I planned to solve the clownfish aggression towards my gramma and fire shrimp while doing the restart. Currently, I have nothing in the tank other than water, sand, and rocks. I plan to add Dr. Tim’s bacteria today and was wondering if my gramma would be okay to use as a cycling fish? Or would my clowns be the ones who have to, ur they are aggressive too. I know it’s only a temporary fix but would Royal gramma be okay? It’s tough to catch my clowns too. Let me know thanks in advance!

imo, no fish should be used as a "cycling fish." ammonia is toxic to fish and even if they scrape by, it will be by the skin of their teeth as their gills burn up. even with bacteria, test for a few days until you are sure your ammonia and nitrites are at 0 ppm. put your gramma in an acclimation box if you're worried.

Yep. I did decide to do a fish less cycle after I posted the thread lol. Thx.
