125g community reef. Redlip blennie, who has always been the tank boss in general, has settled on my small Tomini tang as his favorite target. Tang seems to give back as good as he gets, both occasionally have light visible damage from their sparring sessions. Would you be worried? My belief is that the blennie will eventually chill as the tang increases in size.

Usually they will butt heads for a few minutes, the blennie chasing the tang across the tank until tang swats his scalpel back a couple times. Then they both go back about their business.

They may settle over time. Both look at each other as competition for food sources, thus the bickering.

Just read an interesting post by another member. Try spot feeding the blenny a bit more than usual. Sometimes fish see other fish that naturally compete for their food and don't like it at all. Consider feeding it a bit more. Let us know how that works out.

It's usually the tang that doesn't like the blenny! Lol

Agree with all on this.

I added a small tomini tang and the worst aggressor was my tailspot blenny!

Go figure?

Anyway, I put nori on both sides of the tank for a while and that solved the issue immediately.

Back to one side now and they could care less about each other.
