aggression

I recently added a royal dottyback to my 40 breeder and have been noticing some aggression between it and my yellow coris wrasse. The coris wrasse was added to the tank long before the dottyback, and is larger than the dottyback. I know they have similar body structure, and color, so is that why there is aggression? Is there anything I can do to alleviate this? I am not above catching the dotty and offering it to my LFS for store credit. I like my coris wrasse much more, and added the dotty for my gf's sake. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dottybacks are one of those fish you need to assure yourself of before adding it to a tank. They are aggressive by nature and I'm afraid there isn't much you can do about it. Coris Wrasses are imo by far one of the most passive fish there are. They mind their own business most of the time. I suspect the aggression is coming from the Dottyback. It's a smaller tank so I would recommend taking him out.

That is what I have noticed, the aggression is very one sided. I think I will go ahead and catch the dottyback and get it to the store for credit. I just got over an ich issue, and do NOT want to have to go through that headache again. Thanks for the quick responce.
