Aggressive bluejaw trigger

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if blue jaw triggers are typically aggressive. Mine randomly started picking on my flame hawk that I had for a year. Last night the hawk died. The trigger hasn't been picking on anything else. Any ideas why he attacked the hawk?
