So this guy came on my live rock about 2 months ago. He is really aggressive and bold. Tonight it looked like he was after wrestling a large snail. He's pretty big, compared to another emerald that I bought. I would say his body is a bit bigger than a dime. He is green, but very hairy legs. When I look up ID and one pic says gorilla, one pic says Emerald, there seems to be little consensus. I am just concerned since he is so bold and assertive on my corals and with other tank mates. I don't want him to hurt my goby/pistol pair.

Thanks for looking.

I'm new and never seen one of these in person. Cool looking. Can you get a pic in whiter lights to show my son?

IME even "good" crabs can go bad. I hired a crew of Emeralds to clean up some nuisance algae -- which they did in short order -- but when they literally ran out of veggies they turned on my corals quickly. Packed them off to the refugium where they have all the charts they want.

Ya, I'm thinking that is where he is headed.
