I replaced one of a pair, of Ocellaris Clowns that jumped out with another similar and smaller designer clown. They got along great for a month, but now the larger clown is aggressively pursuing the newer smaller clown. I'm wondering if placing the aggressive clown in "time out" for a few days would help. I'm thinking of an old hang on plastic filter housing in the main tank, with some small holes for water exchange from the larger tank. Does that sound dumb or have any likelihood of working? Is there another solution other than letting nature take its course or finding a new home for the scofflaw?

What does pursuing mean.
Is SHE non-stop harassing?
Or just displaying who’s boss.
Chase and stop, or chase to the point where the smaller hides under a rock, or never comes out.
Little more detail will help

The added fish should be under 3/4” to ensure it’s a male.

Thanks for the reply. Pursuing is not the right word. More like periodic non-stop harassing, bombing into (him?) or right up to him repeatedly. The victim fish doesn't go into any hidey holes, but will hang in a corner as a result. The smaller fish is easily 1.5" and isn't getting injured, the larger standard Ocellaris is probably 2" or so. Any suggestions are appreciated.
