Aggressive Fish

Hello everyone, i have had my fish tank for about 7 months and i just got 2 clownfish today, one smaller than the other. And I also have a purple dottyback. its a 20 gallon tank and the purple dottyback bit the smaller clown on the tail twice. I grabbed the purple dotty back and put him is a small container where i drip acclimate. Anything i can do to prevent this.

Having multiple aggressive fish in a nano tank is not a good idea as you can see. You can try an acclimation box for the tank. Maybe rearrange the rock scape a little so all fish think it's new territory. Dottybacks just aren't made to be in nano tanks.

I think dottybacks have a reputation for being overly aggressive. You may have to rehome him.

ive been thinking about getting another nano for him. Honestly my favorite fish. he super social and goes up to your face when you get close to the tank lol.

Purple dottyback a are vey stressing dby nature.

if the rescaping of the rock doesn’t work, I’d imagine you’d have to rehome.
