Hey everyone,
Currently I'm in the process of setting up a another tank after shutting down my 75, so what I did was get a 20 gal running with a 10 gal sump and have been running what livestock I wanted to keep from the 75 in this tank until the new tank gets up, running and cycled. So once all this happens I will move everything from the 20 over to the 42 which will result in an empty 20! So what I plan on doing is leaving the 20 running and wanted anyone's input on what I could do for an aggressive fish or some odd ball fish or invert that will be unique. I want something that isn't overdone. I was thinking maybe mantis shrimp or some lion fish. So any input will help! Thanks in advance!

Neon dottyback.... They don't come any more aggressive than that!

Make an anemone tank
Definitely not a bad idea but the light that's over the 20 now is going over to the new tank once i get it going so it'll probably have to be just fish or shrimp, because ill only have a marineland single bright over the tank.

No a lionfish will not be a good fit for a 20 gallon. Even dwarf lions need a tank of 50 gallons.

That size tank Is not good for a large aggressive fish. How about doing zoos that would be colorful and easier to keep.

That's what I was planning but I cannot see myself paying the price for some of them. And of course they're all the ones I like.

Where abouts in Upstate NY are you?

Not sure where abouts you are, but Healthy Pet in Troy, NY has a beautiful Peacock Mantis. Matt there would be the perfect guy to talk to, as they've had that mantis for .. well .. years I think.

Troy is a hike from me, I'm in Utica. But wouldn't be to hard to make a phone call! Definitely good to be able to talk to someone who has experience before I make the leap!

Maybe I just got really lucky but I have a neon dottyback that is a model citizen.

What about a small angler? Those are neat.

Yeah a small angler isn't a bad idea at all. Definitely an odd ball! I'll have to look into that. Only thing is that they blend in so much Idk if it would be worth it.
