Any body else doing an aggressive reef? If so, what are the inhabitants? How long have you had it running? What is your favorite thing about the tank.

I am interested in the responses here.

No one else? Here is a video of feeding mine from a couple months ago.

It looks a lot better now and I have a few more fish. I'll have to make another video this weekend.

I'd call mine semi-agressive. Blackcap Basslet, Pink-Tail Trigger, Dwarf Eel, Clowns, Mystery Wrasse, Tomini Tang, Solaris Wrasse, Lyretail anthias.....seems to work well.

Chances are that grouper grows up and starts wreaking havoc. I put a small louti grouper in a fish only tank with about 6 other fish (tanks, wrasses, clowns, etc.) that I had about 10 years ago. The guy at the LFS told me he would be fine if I "kept him fed"......I believed it  1 year later......I had a grouper only tank. Most adult groupers will not tolerate any other fish in their tank, I've tried it twice, even with the most "docile" of grouper species....and my experience has been if they can't eat it they will kill it, If they can't kill it they will die of stress.

i must agree an aggressive reef will eventually become a FOWLR, especially with the grouper... the grouper will eat anything it can fit in its mouth and even things it knows wont fit, i wanted a miniatus grouper for the longest, but i love all my other fish and inverts.

How big were your guys tanks? And what were the other inhabitants? I have a few others around my area that have no problems with their groupers.

Also, the lion and triggers are a bit differnt than wrasses and clowns. This group of fish's behavior is a lot like when I kept African Chiclids. Once they established territory and worked out the pecking order, all was good. The triggers pay no attention to the groupers aggression.

I'm surprised that there is not more responses or tanks like this.
