Have been a little concerned the past 3 weeks or so that I may have contaminated my tank with some wormy pests. Today I arrived home from my wknd vacay, went straight to my tank and to my unfortunate suprise I see 3 very small silver and grey stripped looking worms with centipede like legs staring at me! I have a CBS in the tank already, but Im desperate to get these guys out of my tank! What do you suggest? Its not a very good pic, I used my phone. But it is hiding in the rock near the center of the photo.

I don't see the worm but google bristle worm and see if the pics match what you see.

It does sound like bristle worms they are red or sometimes grey looking centipedes and they will be in your rock and in the sand bed they are a clean up crew of sorts in less they get very big then they can eat corals. Most people don't worry about them.

Ive read mixed views on them as to whether or not their beneficial. It certainly isnt a pink colored bristle worm. Its very small, about as thick as a single strand of hair right now. But if bristleworms can be striped grey then its possible thats what they are. Hopefully my cbs will take care of them..if not maybe I will pick up a six line wrasse.
