First off, im an over the road driver and dont have tons of time to scour forums, also im not at home to see what percentages my lights are running at currently. My most pressing question is "colors". The colors on the AI hydra 52HD's ( i have 2 running on a 120gal ) are Cool White..Royal Blue..Blue...Violet...UV...Deep Red..Green. I KNOW red and green are more harm than good so i run those very low, maybe 7 percent max. White, i think tops out at 10 to 14 percent, i disremember. My question is of the RB, blue, violet and UV, which of those wavelengths ACTUALLY are helpful. Since the blue is closer to white in wavelength, is that a bad thing to turn up? Is the UV there just to make the corals pop or does it serve an actual function? Any and all help on getting my lights dialed in on a mixed SPS and LPS/Softie tank would be appreciated.
