Hey everyone,

I just recently purchased the 12” AI Blade Grown for my 13.5 Fluval Reef. I’m new to the upgraded light game and not well diverted on the settings. Currently have shroom and Zoa’s. Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction on par levels and a schedule.

Thanks!

I’m running a quasi-parabolic 12 hour ramp that “flat maxes” at 75 blues, 50 white for 8 of the hours with a 2 hour curved ramp up/down on each end. So far the zoas, hammers, shrooms, leathers all love it. My nems look a little thirsty so I might try 80/80/55 peaks soon. Good luck!

Awesome, thank you for the help!

I have the same tank and light as you. I'm currently trying to figure out the best settings as well.
What I can tell you is that this light is more powerful than it seems. I had the blues and royals at about 80 % intensity each and my whites at around 60% before and I had coral that were bleaching and shrinking.
Since lowering the intensities I've noticed the coral opening up more and even coloring up a little.

This is what I'm running at the moment.
(See attached image)
Something to also note is that I do prefer a longer photo period and this is tweaked to what visually looks appealing to ME while still trying to hit that wide blue spectrum band.

If you find something you like better I'd love to hear it. But this isn't a terrible place to start. Hope this helps.

I have a 21" that I run for 8hr with an hour ramp up and down to 43%rb 43%b and 38%w over a 20x20x18 on the new extended tank mounts so its about 5" off the water surface. Hammers, torches, rfas, zoas, a few other misc things. All loving it until I tried bumping it up to 50 50 ad 45 things didnt like that to much. May try 2-3% (kinda hard to do, only thing i dont like about the light) every 2 weeks until I get to 60ish% eventually.

It doesn’t have the acclimation setting like the prime 16 ??

it could not 100% sure it doesn't but I didnt see it. I also didn't play to much in the settings tbh. I was irritated with the mobius app it wouldnt recognize the light then just multiple other issues. So I just down loaded the myai app and set it up in like 3 minutes.

I called ai today and asked them if it has the settings and it does just like the prime 16. It’s the nighttime icon in top right corner They also gave me settings for my tank acclimatizing.

I got a par meter! Not just for this. I will be setting up a 180 in the next few months so I'll want it there too. But anyway I tested my par in the tank. About half way down or where most corals are I'm in the 115 to 130 range front and back 5" of tank is the 115 range. Couple inches down we are looking 75-80 and sand bed 50-70. Top 1/3 of the tank is 200+. This is at 43rb 43b and 33w at a total of 19watts.
I did find the acclimation mode and I think I'm going to shoot for 60% peak power at the end of acclimation and see where par levels are at that point. I'll keep the same spectrum levels.
