So I was trying to update my ai controller but I have a Mac so it's pretty tough. Needless to say I couldn't figure it out. The problem now is that the controller is stuck in the firmware update mode and not controlling the lights because of it. Any suggestions? Any jelo would be awesome.

Can you still see the files on the controller when you plug it into your computer? Maybe wipe it and reload the drivers and verify you are using the most current.

Ive read its not Mac compatible. What I would try to do is use a friends Pc and try it. If it doesnt work the AI support is really helpful I have facebook messaged them for help and theyve gotten back to me within hours.

It is not technically Mac compatible but there is a way to make it work. Ai has a video about how to do it but I am not tech savvy enough to figure it out. The controller is now "stuck" in the update mode and I can not use it. I guess I'll have to call ai tomorrow to figure it out.

Ah I just watched the video. As far as I could tell I bet the paths were either wrong or it didnt mount correctly in command. Are you able to Eject the controller from your devices screen?

Yea I couldn't get the paths correct. I was able to eject the controller but its still on firmware update. I tried a few times too

Lol. It was really close. Spent over an hour trying to do it on a Mac with no luck. Brought it to my bosses and did it on his PC. It literally took 2 minutes.

I'm having the same problem. I know I'm late. But this is crazy! They said they are workin on making it more user friendly for Mac users !

You're best bet is to find a friend with a PC to update the controller. I had a friend who is very computer savvy try to help me with no luck. Used my bosses PC the next day and it took literally 2 minutes. Best of luck.

I had the same issue with mine and my Mac.... I ended up plugging it into my wife's PC and it updated fine from there. Even stuck in "Firmware Update".

Once you've done it you can probably do it again in under 60 seconds if your computer is fairly fast. Glad you got it worked out.

To those others contemplating using a mac, spending a little time finding a PC to use would be recommended as the Mac update isn't simple. We are working on addressing this issue, of course the AI Director will soon eliminate the need altogether for those who prefer to use a smartphone or computer to control their lights.

bigcapct, are you still in need of assistance? You can reach us at 515-233-5105, be sure you leave a voicemail if we don't answer so we can return your call.

Cheers,
Joel@AI

Hey, I did call you lastnight. I ended up using someone's PC and it worked great! Hydras look good so far. The controller would of been better if it had actual buttons cause the touch arrows kinda stink on the wireless controller. I'm happy after day 1 so far. Thanks !!

you can control the sensitivity of the buttons in the settings.

That didn't seem to help much. Either a late response or skips options to fast
