AI Hydra 26 HD

I have three AI Hydra 26 HD lights on my 6 foot tank. Thinking of adding another but can’t find another 26HD. If I buy the Hydra 32 HD, would it mess up my setup?

It is just a more powerful version of the 26 with supposedly improved scatter. If you want uniform light throughout the tank, it would be challenging. But if you can tinker some and use a PAR meter, it should work. Bulk Reef Supply has some videos on the new lights.

I am hearing that the new 32's connect differently to the AI App. Do you know if then new light will become a child to the 26's?

I believe that they are controlled differently. The new ones are bluetooth instead of wifi.

You'll have to control separately, but could probably match the look.

I had two Hydra 52s and just bought a Hydra 64. The new ones aren't wifi which I was surprised about, they are only bluetooth so you need to setup a separate profile and tank. It is a lot brighter so using the same profile it is noticeable but I dont mind so much, If you didn't like it you just adjust your new light to a lower intensity profile.

I would try to get hold of the older model but you could also consider a new brand altogether because that is effectively what the new Hyda is.
