Just upgraded my lighting to a Hydra 26 from a Kessil A160. I had a 12 hour schedule, 10am-10pm, a 4 hour peak from 2pm-6pm. The max being 75% and 50% whites. *light is very low for anything other than the peak, mostly for aesthetic*. Ran it for about a year. The problem i’m having now is the customizability of the Hydra. I’m used to only having the intensity and spectrum of the Kessil. I’m reading different things about the red and green light growing algea, and the UV being too high bleaching corals. Any help would be appreciated. My tank is a 50 gallon cube, 20” deep and light is about 8” off the surface.

The best thing to do is head over to http://www.aquaillumination.com/signature/ and download on of their presets to start. After that you can tweak as needed. I run about 10% max on green and 5% max on red to get the algae down and reduced the cool white by 50%.
