sorry, didn't see that in the title, actually I'm looking for Black, question is i was going to go with 2 16 HD Primes for my 4 foot tank, but wondering would one 32 HD suffice? would that be enough spread to cover a 48 x 24 tank?

No Problem. What kind of corals in the tank? Hydra owners can chime in but the 16hd and the 32 hd have a 24 x 24 spread and the 32 is basically (2) 16's but the 16's can be spread apart and spaced where you want them and the 32hd cant. If if was me i would do (2) 32's all day long but its because i don't like to just GET BY and going the 32hd route insures you can keep what you want.. For instance you may say softie and LPS now until you see some sticks down the road and now you have to upgrade.. Hope this helps.

just to answer your Q on a 4ft tank you will need at least 2 x 32 Hydras

Yeah that's what I thought, even though the 32 has 2 pucks in the fixture, the light would be over the middle of the 4 foot tank and would not spread out as far, hence gong with 2 16 HD primes, thanks
