Let's take a journey over the past month.

All of a sudden I have been getting algae. A lot of algae. My tank is about a year old, I don't overfeed and I water change about 15% weekly. But algae and LOTS of it.

So naturally, I change my sediment and carbon blocks, even though im reading 0.00 PPM on my TDS meter. I figure maybe there are chloromines or possibly silicates that are getting past my membranes. Never been an issue before but who knows.

Stepped up my water change schedule. Made no impact. Tested my salt mixes, maybe was something was leaching P04? Nope.

So last night I somehow just noticed that the screen from one of my windows was missing. I could have sworn that it was there yesterday and we have been doing some renovations, I thought maybe one of the contractors might have removed it and forgot to put it back in. Went to the security camera footage this morning to check all the camera's, and just by chance, one of the cameras I had installed over my tank is in the same room as the window I was trying to see where the screen was placed. So I am going over the footage and I noticed that one of my three Hydra units would turned off with the others around 11PM, stay off for 30 minutes and then came back on at 100% intensity and STAYED ON the entire rest of the night. Interesting.

So naturally I checked this weekend, last weekend, last week and sure enough... same thing. Looks like for whatever reason, the one Hydra lost sync with the main unit and has been doing this for over a month!

It looks like I finally solved my algae issue. I attributed the algae to my sandbed and removed all the sand over the past couple weeks lol Looks like I am going bare bottom now.

Glad you figured it out but you are removing the sandbed and have you fixed the light issue?

Unfortunately the sandbed has been already 90% removed. I started it a couple weeks ago and did about 25% removal each time.

Ya, I had to basically reset all the lights, and then add them back one at a time to the app and get them all synced up again.
