Hello,

My hydra 52hd has stopped working, but flashes every 5 minutes. Looks like the led lamp resets and starts again in a constant loop.

The only way that I managed to get the lamp working continuosly is when reducing the power under 10w.

I need to fix this as I don't want to thing the money that I pay for a such expensive 10w led light....

I spoke with customer service, but not clear answer after spent 3 days in email chats. Now the same with the EU distribution center. They suggested AC adapter....

I'm just wondering if someone had a similar issue to address the problem correctly and do not spend hundreds in parts....

Thanks a lot!
Regards

This sounds like a shorted LED problem. Fixable by either replacing the failing LED cluster or the LEDs on the cluster itself. I don't have a good repair video about this for hydras yet, but I do have some for Radions in my playlist:

They should at least help with the diagnosis.

Thanks AV.

That's a great channel!

I am adding a video of the issues. This may help to narrow the possible diagnosis.

After increase the intensity, the lamp restarts.

Is it just the royal blue channel or any channel over 10% causing this?

Thanks AV for looking on to it!

All channels. The trigger for restart is 10w regardless the channel or configuration.

I tried all channels independently and there is no difference. I can't increase any of them more than 10w.

The brand refers to the a/c adapter, but green led is on and no flashing.

Bad LEDs is still a possibility...
When the light shuts off, does the reset button flash any colors, does the fan continue to spin?

Hi!

Yes, flashing teal color and then changes to green when connected.

Fan works as usual, when led reconnects, the fan starts for few seconds.

All looks pretty normal and I cannot see any indication about the root of the problem. :(

I wish I could be of more help. At this point, it's hard to tell what's wrong. My bet is still on failed LEDs on one of the channels, but also could be one of the LED control circuits. The power supply failure also makes sense, but (1) highly unusual and (2) I agree that if the green LED stays on, the failure is unlikely.

Hi AV,

Thanks a lot for your help and advice! I only have access to hidra 26/32 power adapters and I can't find a 52hd power adapter to give a try....

All the best with your YouTube channel and your repairs! Great job!

Thanks again!

Hey!

Yes, I tried but unfortunately didn't work.

I'm just coming from giving a try to the 26hd adapter and the lamp works ok. So, the issue is on the a/c adapter.

Thanks!!
