So i have an extra hydra that i am going to use for a fuge light. Currently in my fuge i have one of those workshop bulbs, and a specialty grow bulb that is blue and purple.

I am hooking up my hydra through my AWM module on my apex, but was wondering what sort of spectrum should i program it for to grow chaeto?

If anyone has idea they would be most appreciated. I get decent growth now but not a ton and there is still algae in my DT.

I would do more red and green and less white for sure.
Im no expert but the kessil grow lights are red.

yeah the manual fo rthe 380 indicate high magenta and UV which i will turn up

If you give it the full spectrum you'll be fine. But honestly I'd sell it and but something cool. If the fuge is fine. It's fine.

why sell it? i mean i am hoping it could give me similar performance as the Kessil 380 which now costs more than i could get the Hydra for. i was using an LeD grow bulb and a shop light but given the BRS video on chaeto- thought that upping the intensity would help with some algae in the DT.

Spectrum mainly.
And you really only need about 100 par or so for chato. I burnt some actually with a current orbit marine pro at full power 12in or so above my fuge.

You can defiantly give it a shot though. It doesn't contain much yellow red or orange. So I'd push those colors and try to get around 8 to 10,000 k and watch the intensity.
Just like corals and plants acclimation is key.
