AI Hydra vent...

so, I bought an AI Hydra a few years back. I have to say, I have never been completely satisfied with the light. I have never been able to figure out the proper settings to get proper SPS growth. To top it off, the LED/circuit board (which are one and the same) have burnt out twice. The first time was under warranty. Now my royal blues have burnt out....all of the other colors are fine. What upsets me is this was a very expensive unit. One of the most expensive. At $500+ for the unit and the "director" controller it was tough to shell out the cash for it. I was worried at the time that it was a bad decision and time has proven it was a horrible decision. Terrible unit and I completely turned off AI. What a waste of money.

Tank: 30 gal cube W/skimmer and mech filtration. Weekly water changes.

How far back is a few years back? Most compitent reefers these days use the 26hd and 52's for builds without going up to radions with tons of success including myself. They are 100% worth the price tag and nothing in the 340 price range gets near it tbh

Sorry you have a had a bad experience with this lighting fixture.
I use the same fixture, used it on a 30, 20 and now a 45 to keep sps, my fixture is 2.5 yrs old.
Hopefully AI will make it right.
