I purchased eight brand new AI 52 HD lights
And one them had a broken fan blade which caused the light to over heat and turn off, so called them and they shipped out two fans !! I guess a spare ? I think they should have quality checked the light before leaving !! No instructions, just didn't want to tare apart a brand new expensive light !! But it works now

How did you get it fixed? DIY? Why didn't you use the warranty?

They are about three weeks old max !!! I called AI up and that's what they said was the fix !! Nice right
But now I'm showing no communication from my phone
I was out of town for five days and I came home Monday late and found a lot of corals bleached !!! Then I noticed at mid nite the lights are still on but it was a white light may be fifty percent not sure if that caused them to bleach out ? But no controls ! So I just unplugged them and deal with it today somehow.
I have the lights about eight inches from the top lid of the tank which I guess would be ten inches from the water
My wifi inside my house is about 7.0 and we have booster, but the lights them selves show only one bar when you have them on line and a ton of constant updates
Any advise I will take it

Wouldn't taking the fixture apart cancel the warranty?

I had 1 of 2 fans go out on a video card once. They sent me a better model, refurbished card for exchange.

I had a little trouble getting my 4 AI primes setup initially (getting all of the units to sync up during the setup was a royal pain), but once they were all programmed I haven't had a problem.

Well AI says my wifi has some sort of interference is why they log off ? My wifi booster is twenty feet away, my living room tv is not a smart tv? Tryed it with my T-5 off and still the same only one bar is all the 52 HD read ?

The AI wifi is weak. Mine are sitting ~10-15ft from a Ubiquiti AP at full power, and they only show 3 bars. Every other device I use around the tank (cell phone, tablet, Apex, etc) shows max signal.

I called AI about the constant lost communication and they say it's my wifi !! I'm lick my wifi booster is twenty feet away I'm showing a strength of 7 and my other devices show full bars ? And i turned off the smart TVs , iPads , phone wifi ect .... didn't change at all

Now AI is saying that the wifi router or booster needs to be fifteen feet away from the tank !!! What the heck
More money more time !!!
What next !! So I have eight brand new hydra 52-HD less than a month old and can't use them because my wifi booster is twenty feet away not fifteen !! what the heck !!! Very frustrating every time I turn around it's something else with these lights

I also had connectivity issues when I set my lights up. I just decided to not connect them to my wifi and set them up with local connection. I can't login and mess with my lights while on vacation but I have never understood what benefit that has anyway.

It is at least a way to get them up and running now, even if it is just temporary.

Well had the wifi booster moved to inside the tank canopy and the AI lights work only had two bars or signal strength but they work !!!

Guess what now, I replaced two fans out of eights hydra 52-HD lights so fare , now I need to call them and get three more fans !! The blades are breaking !!! Cheap butt can blades !! I'm sold at all on these lights nothing but trouble with the first generation they up graded me to HD lights now the wifi issue and now the fan blade issue what next !!!

It is impossible for devices connected to wifi on the same access point channel to cause interference with each other. That's not how the 802.11 spec works. The only thing that will cause channel interference is a cordless phone that runs at same frequency but a decent router will change channels when it detects another device using the same channel outside of the wireless network.

For AI to say your other wifi devices are causing interference is just plain stupidity. It's called garbage design on their part.

I have so many problems with my Hydra HDs. Every time I want to hang a setting, the child won't connect to the parent. I have to reset everything. After each session the child disconnects. I have to reset the network and reconnect (about 30 min of attempts) each time I make a change. The benefit of these LEDs is customizability, but they lose it with all the network problems. I got a good deal on a ATI T5 setup and I am switching over.

The bad part is we added a wifi booster and put it on the the LED lights and the signal was only two bars on some lights and other lights was only one bar !!! So it's the lights - so I put the router in my garage about fifteen feet from the.closest light and they still work, so once again I think the lights just need more time for the technology to mature !! Out of eight lights I need four fan blades alone !! How many more are going to break !!!
