Battery backup available?

Last when I spoke with Ecotech they mentioned something is in the works for the battery option. Along with the updated/redesigned magnet is still in the works.

Now they're on sale I'm ready to pull the trigger on two of them but have concerns about them not holding on 1/2" glass.

Now they're on sale I'm ready to pull the trigger on two of them but have concerns about them not holding on 1/2" glass.

I have 13mm glass. It holds but it did fall off once. I think I had it tilted to much and or a snail hit it. But snails on on it all the time. I used the power cord holders and put it on the rim in the inner of the tank so it wont fall if it comes off again.

My only issue now is the wholes in the back are big and snails rub on the blade and once got stuck resulting in the unit shutting down. I had to reset it.. I hope they come out with a sponge. I like them but the MP20 are nice too I just dont like the cords outside the tank.
