I have a 90 gallon I want to upgrade my lights but I am on a budget, I was thinking of going with 3 AI primes. Hydra26 are really $ in Canada. Do you think three primes would work? thanks

as far as i know, the primes are just 13 leds (Half of the Hydra 26's). AI seems to use the same led module for all their lights.. just putting 1 (prime) ,2 (hyrda 26) or 4 (hydra 52) of them in the light. So with that said, 3 primes should light your tank fine but 2 hydras would be more light (one more module).

Evening

If it is a standard 90, it’s 4 feet long and 2 feet high. The primes will be underpowered, most pronounced with very little par at the bottom. The prime and 26 say their spread is 24x24 but will shadow a bit outside 18x18 and loose par. Depending on your tank set up it may be fine with the 3 -26, Not support a full sps system

Have you thought about T5 or a hybrid, maybe be another way to go.
