AI Prime 16 HD fan noise

Hi to all, I’m writing because 2 weeks ago l bought an AI prime 16 HD. Actually l'm using the Saxby setting with 25w of max power on my 10g nano reef.
The issue is that the light’s fan is very noise during the sunrise ramp so the seller suggested me to update the firmware.
Actually the light has the firmware 1.5.5 and l can’t install any update.
So l want know what l should do.

I think its the light. I had a 16HD a while back on a tank and bought it new. It would be loud running but also started to make all this rattling sound. I had to smack it for it to stop. I had it replaced by AI and well the 2nd one did the same thing. I think its just poor fan choice they are using in them. They are loud in use and also not very well built either.

if it was used, it could be that it needs to be cleaned. my si fuge gets loud from time to time but it’s just salt from the sump clogging it up

I am running the same profile at about 70%. The fan does turn on during the ramp-up. My fan only turns on for 10 minutes or so. Ensure your inlet filter and the fan/housing are clean.

Mine both used to do the rattling thing, even after the tiniest bump. The fix was to smack it (as above), or take the grill off and either stall the motor (so it restarts) or flick the blades up to speed. Strangely, since the lenses have melted away I don’t get the fan noise, lol

Thank you all....I understand that it is a defect due to the low quality of the light.
Anyway next week the seller will replace the light......we'll see if the second one will make the same noise too.
