Maybe start at 50-70% of the values referenced in that video? Then increase very slowly (one small adjustment per week) increasing until you either hit the max values in that video or stop sooner since your tank is shallow and if you are keeping less light hungry corals.

The waterdepth is 8 inches, looking to keep sps and zoa's in the frag tank. I think i take the BRS settings and start is as you said at maybe 30%.
