I just put my brand new AI Prime on my IM 30l and the fan is so loud, I thought they were supposed to be a quiet light. I can't deal with this constant hum. Is this normal or possible defective? Also, I got the 18" arm but thought it could be adjusted, I would like it to be much closer to the tank, how do I achieve that? TIA

Hey did you reach out to AI?

Can’t watch the video but I had a similar problem have you tried lifting the metal guaze at the top using a small pin sometimes it’s pressed in and touching the fan which creates a noise

Not normal at all. Mine are almost silent, so far.

Hi I have 4 prime 16’s and everyone of the fans are loud but only when run above 75-85% total watts. Running at full power it is very loud for me. I took apart one and they are running 1.0 amp fans and the older prime HD’s are running 0.30 amp fans. I contacted aqua illumination and they told me the noise is normal. As for the gooseneck you will have to bend in a S shape to get it lower to the water.
Sorry I meant 30 watts total.

I checked it and it's no touching at all. Wish it was that simple.

Same issue with my AI prime. Took it apart and added high quality thermal paste between the Led puck and heat sink. Also used the My AI app to throttle back the fan to max 80%. Just about acceptable noise levels if all light channels are set below 100%
