Ai Prime 16 HD "Reef" not WiFi capable??

I don't own the most recent version (I think mine is just a Prime HD) and I can view i from my work laptop. I think the webapp is the only way I could download something like Saxby's schedule and do an import.

Not op. I had my lights switched off using the app, so that I could work on my tank and add some frags (didn’t want to burn them when they were sitting on the very top before moving them down).

I left my apartment to go walk the dog and that’s when I my reminder went off to switch on everything on my tank. I was able to switch on my return pump, heater, wave makers and skimmer through WiFi, but had to wait until I came back to my apartment to switch on the lights.

It’s not the end of the world, but definitely an annoyance. I can plug it into a WiFi switch and solve the issue.

I am not OP, but my 16 HD does not show up there, only on the app... (hopefully im doing something wrong?)

Did you get a response from AI? I am looking at lighting for my tank, stock light just doesn't cut it. Did you return? If so what did you go with?

So I did speak with them and they return with a company babble response... See below, I asked for a follow-up and told that they have said that for over 2yrs now...and guess what...they went silent on me and closed the ticket. I already have the HD32 and 2 64s as well as two Reef 90's...I am in the market of getting some new small wave pumps to run my 20gal Nano...I looked at the Nero 3 and decided NOPE...not doing it since they are both BLE controlled...and the MP10s are too over priced...I already have 2 MP40s running my 120g.

You are correct for someone who has been in the hobby for many years and understands the process behind every function of the light spectrums.

However, I am just getting back into the hobby and I am not 1000% confident on the lighting spectrums + intensity (especially since this is my first time with a 14 gallon biocube).

I am very glad that you don't ever have to mess with your lights, that is amazing!
I am always tweaking mine in hopes to counter-act another situation happening in my tank.

Constantly "tweaking" your lights.......is gonna cause your corals - endless problems.

Corals thrive under stability - parameters and lighting. This is the most basic logic, of coral growth.

The more you screw with stuff, the harder it is for your tank to thrive. I've seen so many amazing tanks - with every variety of lighting (low to high end)......the one, basic key to success - is you don't constantly "tweak it".

Kinda defeats the entire reason.....of stability.

There have being numerous times that I have had power outages or surges in my local area and some systems I have connected (like my entire aquarium set-up) is all wifi enabled; some systems do not turn back on unless either I am in range or via wifi. Also, I do not know if they are turned back-on unless I am physically home.

The Prime will restart and continue to run the programmed schedule without any intervention or your needing to be close to the device.

Yeah, I am still running my Hydra 26 (purchased in 2016) in combination with my two Reef 90's... Love the Hydras... Might pull out the 64s...but I had them since 2012...so I think the lifespan on those might be on the tail end.

Our engineering team is currently working on the final tests of the WiFi update for the myAI app. Please keep an eye out as we will be sending out a notification for the firmware update.

I’m not sure how it works on android but for iPhone you can just download the setting.

When downloaded open up the file and share it with the AI app and it is in there then.

I'm confused.. Seems you can hook it to your router so either
A) There is a cat5 port or
B) It has wireless..

So maybe download the file via your phone and their cloud and err "associate" it w/ the app somehow..

Always making adjustments and changing your light settings around isn't doing your tank any favors. Set a schedule with heavy blues that is aesthetically pleasing and leave it alone.

I’m in the same situation- prime HD16. I like the BT only capability, the only issue is that you can’t import the special website posted settings. I see some people saying ‘don’t mess with your lights too much’…this is a valid point. However, some people haven’t gotten their lights to the desired point where they can just not mess with them, this is why I wanted to download the professional set up. The IOS phone app works well for simplicity set up, and I haven’t tried it on an iPad yet. Seems as if the computer just allows better user experience in setting up complex or intricate lighting programs.
