AI Prime 16HD Fan Noise

Interested in an AI Prime 16hd but I am sensitive to fan noise. I spoke with customer service at AI and they said the App had an adjustment for the fan speed. Can someone verify this? Can you adjust the fan speed to certain percentages to reduce the fan speed? I will be running this on a 20 gallon tank with mostly softy's and lps so I don't expect to have to run at full power.

Sounds like AI technology. I have a Nero 5. Adjustable speeds. Love it. Good luck.

Mine is not. And if you knock the light it squeals like a pig.

The only fan adjustment it has actually prevents it turning off, when it’s not needed;

i have the 16hd on a 20g tank my highest intensity goes to 90% and the fan runs a lot during my photo period its not that loud but it can be heard and the fan speed isnt adjustable

You can just adjust the max fan speed. Keep the fan dust free and give it a tap on the side if it starts to squeal. lol

How much can you adjust the max speed?

I havent played with them in a while. But if you want to.....
Go to settings/advanced then play with the max fan speed.

They can be loud, I found that if you remove the dust covers they will quiet down. I was running 6 ai primes over my tank and the fans were ridiculously loud at peak time. I have since switched over to kessil 360x's and they are whisper quiet.

You can adjust it to a max of 100, 90 or 80 and also enable fan shutdown.
