AI Prime 16HD on a bio cube 32

I definitely like a darker more blue tank just slowly add more white till it gets more pleasing to your eyes
At this point I just want my coral growth back. I need a new light to reduce the heat. I also like the sleek look. Unfortunately now i don’t have the space for a larger tank yet.

Here’s a throwback picture when I was trying to figure out the best way to mount the prime to my bio cube. I wanted to still keep it somewhat enclosed so I made an acrylic riser it just looked weird so then should I just bought them out and put it on the back like you have it

Lots of work. I’m moving out of my rental in December and once in my condo I doing a 120. A lot more forgiving than this smaller tank. I had a bad bout of ich and all i have are 2 fish left then the light issue. So it’s been a rocky road. I had a 300 gallon back in the day of MH lighting and my ex killed it off. So trying again

So I changed the lights and raised the light and thing that were still alive started to open up. Let’s hope they snap back but i did lose a lot.

Day 2 of rest lighting
Corals are all coming out and my Zoe’s are looking better. No hole for the really bleached hard’s. Some color coming back but for sure won’t know for weeks if they start growing again.

Any update??

MY hood failed on my 32 after 3 months, I ordered a 16HD today and plan to remove hood and use the hard mounting bracket. Also ordered a defusser from 3D reefing. do any of you use the defusser? is it a need?

I use a diffuser. To be honest, I thought it would be noticeable changes, but I don't believe it has caused any. My schedule is set up pretty low for my 14 gal, (74% being my max output) however I am seeing coral growth like crazy! (I am unsure if it is due to the diffuser or not to be honest).

do you have lids on your tank? if I remove the hood it may take a while to get a new lid for tank
Mine is not the one picture above which is an amazing hood. Mine just has the hood removed and a flex arm to keep the AI prime about 10 inches off the water.

That’s awesome changing this all tonight when i get home
I would make sure to set acclimation when you change as one of the poster's mentioned. Will help the coral acclimate to the new light schedule.
